With fall fast approaching, I have been giving thought to some things to do once the weather begins to cool off. We have been working on several projects for entertainment, one of which are the horseshoe pits. Dave Lee has been heading that project and the pits are almost ready for our tossers to start the competition. All we have left to do is fill in the pits with sand/dirt and they will be essentially ready to go.
We have also started game night on Tuesday evenings hosted by Jim and Janet Beseau. Come out to play and learn pinochle and dominoes. Last Tuesday we had enough for a pinochle game and it was so much fun that we have decided to make it a weekly gathering.
The Texas Hold’em table and chips are finally here so we can also start having poker nights. Any residents who like to play a bit of poker need to let me know when would be a good night for poker night. I have a sign-up sheet on the outside of the office for folks to sign up that want to play.
Finally we are looking at building a couple of fire rings down by the beach and up by the horseshoe pits so that is another project we have in the works. With the nights getting cooler it’s the perfect time for a warm fire and some good conversation to pass the time.
